Queen Sekinat

The King is married to Olori Sekinat Aramide Elegushi, his childhood sweetheart and they are blessed with adorable children.

Early life

The Queen of Ikate, Olori Sekinat Aramide Elegushi was born to the famous Ipaye Bello family of Lagos Island on November 10, 1976. She is the eldest daughter of Alhaji Morouf Bello and Alhaja Ramota Oshodi. Olori Sekinat spent her early life in Lagos, where she began her education at Army Children’s School Obalende Lagos (1982 – 1986). When her mother moved to Abeokuta in 1986, she transferred to Holy Trinity School Abeokuta where she completed her primary education.  She returned to Lagos in 1989 and was enrolled in Victory Grammar School, Ikeja for her Junior Secondary School education. She then proceeded to Home Science Association Secondary School for her Senior Secondary School. She finished her education at the prestigious University of Lagos in 1995 where she graduated with a BSc. in Accounting. She completed the mandatory one year National Youth Service in 2002 and proceeded to work with Marbell Nigeria Limited 2002-2005)


The Queen worked with Marbell Nigeria Limited from 2002 – 2005 to understand the intricacies of running a business. Armed with 4 years’ experience and her registered company SEKSAH Nigeria Limited, She was ready to face the entrepreneurial market. She opened her first business venture, a fashion boutique, selling unique items. With increase in demand from her clientele, she opened a second outlet, this time on the popular Lekki axis.

Her second business line came by chance after a family friend saw what she had done with her home then in Carlton estate. He commissioned her for her first interior decoration project based on her attention to detail, eye for color and ability to select unique pieces that complement each other. Since then she has worked on several projects. Her specialty is home design and decoration.

Identifying a gap in the hospitality sector, she opened Queens Park and Lounge, a family leisure Centre. The park is one of the most popular family leisure locations in Lagos with its beach and constantly upgraded family themed fun activities. The Park is also serves as an event center for parties and concerts.

Marriage and Family

Queen Aramide met her husband in 1999 while in school, through her cousin, late Ishola Oshodi of blessed memory. They got married in 2003 and have adorable children. They are best friends, partners, confidants and biggest pillars to each other. On April 27, 2010, she became Queen of Ikateland.

Outside of her royal duties of accompanying her husband on official visits and occasions, The Queen supports a number of causes and is engaged in philanthropic activities. She is a supporter of the International Women’s Society (IWS) Skills Centre.

She takes particular interest in women and children’s causes. She believes that empowerment of women is a great catalyst to community and economic development. She is actively involved in several programs that focus on this – community skills acquisition training, vocational centres etc. She also has a foundation that is responsible for a number of children’s education within the Kingdom. As a custodian of Arts and Culture, she supports a number of artists through the renowned Nike Art gallery.
